The Heart of The Nail Fairy
Hi, I’m Martina, lovingly known as The Nail Fairy at Mary Bridge Children’s Hospital. As a volunteer, I visit kids who are facing serious medical challenges, bringing a little magic and light to their day through something as simple as a manicure. Dressed in my fairy wings, I go from room to room offering them their choice of nail polish, and they get to keep the bottle—a small gift that’s theirs to treasure.
Each child I meet is on a difficult journey, and my goal is to make them feel special, even if just for a moment. Whether it’s through picking out a favorite color, sharing a laugh, or giving them something bright to focus on, I want them to know that they’re seen, loved, and cared for. Sometimes, it’s the smallest acts of kindness that can make the biggest difference.
How You Can Be a Part of the Magic
The Nail Fairy continues to spread joy because of the incredible support from people like you. One of the best ways to contribute is by donating nail polish—each bottle becomes a personal gift for the children, helping me brighten their day.
What We Need: NEW nail polish. Fun, vibrant colors and glitters are always a hit! Temporary tattoos or small fun items like stickers also bring smiles to kids who may not be into painting their nails.
